12-20 Red and White

like snow falling soft,
on your breath,
you were laughing,
like snow falling soft,
on your breath,

I wore gray,
to the red and white ball,
simple ribbons,
never did me wrong,
but red as bright,
is not my color,
and white, rolling my eyes,
is for weddings, and waiters,
and you,

like snow falling soft,
on your breath,
you were laughing,
like snow falling soft,
on your breath,

in my gray woolen,
glitter driven silver denim,
with matching boots,
sparkle dust in my beard,
dancing from one
button tight conversation
to another, all the while,

like snow falling soft,
on your breath,
you were laughing,
like snow falling soft,
on your breath,

I caught you,
beneath the mistletoe,
and jazz, laughing,
in red and white ivory,
gray eyes flashing,
never quite as simple,

as snow falling soft,
on your breath- laughing.
